You're not learning alone.
How the training is delivered, who supports you through it, and what happens if you don’t finish everything.
How you'll study
There are two ways into a Shafston course, and they run differently.
Enrolling on your own
Online, alongside your school subjects
You attend a scheduled weekly class in the Shafston Virtual Classroom and do the rest of the work in your own time through the Learning Management System. Sessions are recorded, so a missed class or a patchy connection does not put you behind. No travel, no campus attendance, and your school does not need to be involved.
One exception: the Certificate III in Hospitality includes a required in-person component — at least 36 complete service periods in a working hospitality venue, arranged with Shafston.
Through your school
Whatever your school has arranged
If your school partners with Shafston, the course sits on the school timetable and the delivery model is agreed between the school and Shafston. The six models below are the ones schools choose from — ask your school which one applies to you.
Delivery models a school can arrange
Schools set this up in different ways, and one of them will suit how your school already runs its timetable.
School-based training
Regular sessions delivered at your own school across the year.
Block
Concentrated blocks of training on set dates.
Hybrid
A combination of on-site sessions and online learning.
Virtual
Delivered online, for schools at a distance.
City Academy
Students attend a Shafston campus for their training.
Partnership Delivery
Delivered jointly with the school under an agreed arrangement.

Progress reporting
Schools are kept informed of how students are tracking through their units, so support can be arranged early rather than late.
If you don't complete everything
The units you have completed are still recognised. You receive a Statement of Attainment for them. Nothing goes back to zero.
