How it works

If you choose VET, this is what the whole process looks like: five stages, from choosing a qualification to holding one.

Stage

01

Choose a VET qualification

Select from Certificate III, Certificate IV or Diploma qualifications, depending on the area you want to work in and how far you want to take it.

Stage

02

Learn through competency

You work through Units of Competency. Each one is a defined skill or area of knowledge that makes up part of the qualification.

Stage

03

Complete assessment

Assessment is built around evidence of what you can do. In the Diploma of Business, for example, that means team-based projects, simulated management meetings, presentations, recorded role plays and case studies.

Stage

04

Demonstrate competency

Competent

You have met the requirements of the unit.

Not Yet Competent

Keep learning, practising and trying again. This is a step, not a fail.

Stage

05

Receive your qualification
