About this course
Who it suits, and how it runs
This course teaches the everyday work of a finance or accounts office: processing transactions, keeping ledgers, performing financial calculations and using a computerised accounting system. It suits students who like working with numbers and want a practical qualification that employers recognise immediately.
Students use industry accounting software and spreadsheets from the first term. The course pairs well with Accounting or General Mathematics at school, and in Queensland the two do not duplicate each other for QCE purposes.
Who this course suits
✓ Students interested in accounting, bookkeeping, banking or finance careers.
✓ Students who want a practical complement to Accounting or Business as a General subject.
✓ Students planning to progress to the Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or a Diploma of Accounting after school.
